Configuring Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS Server

After the installation of Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS server, before putting it to work, you need to do some necessary configurations through Server Manager.

The minimum configuration jobs should be done as follows:

• Specify the IP address and port of the server in General Settings section.
• If the Blowfish secure port is used, generate and export Blowfish User Keys for the Client or Cache Server.
• Add the VSS databases in Databases section.
• Specify which VSS users are allowed to access VSS databases through Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS server in Users section.
• Start or Stop Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS Server service in Service Control section.

Additionally, you can accomplish the following administrative tasks through Server Manager:

• Set the path for temp folder
• Specify the size of memory used for server caching
• Manage license information
• Customize System Log
• Choose appropriate password policy
• Specify whether a user is allowed to access the current VSS database
• Decide file types to be excluded from the SourceSafe database.
• Designate some SourceSafe projects to be web projects.
