Visual SourceSafe (VSS) Remote Access Tool Recommended by Microsoft A working folder can be set at any level of the Project Tree
hierarchy. Some users specify a single working folder at the root of the tree.
Working folders are automatically inherited from parents in the tree. However,
you can set a working folder for any subprojects. 1. Highlight the project for which the folder will be set. 2. Click Set Working Folder or choose the Set Working
Folder command from either the File menu or by right-clicking the
selected folder. 3. Select a folder from the Folders list in the Set Working Folder Dialog Box.
NOTE: If the desired Working Folder does not exist in the selection
view, enter a folder name in the Name field and it will be created
automatically. If a working folder is not set for a child project, the child project will
automatically inherit the working folder setting from its parent project. A user may wish to unset a working folder if the folder is not part of the parent
project's hierarchy. To unset a working folder, select a folder and click Set
Working folder or choose the Set Working Folder command from the File
menu. Clear the path in the Name field of the Set Working Folder dialog box and
press OK. This project will now inherit a working folder from the parent
project if available. SourceSafe (VSS) Remote/Web/Internet Access | Software Configuration Management | SCM Solution Set Working Folder (File Menu)
