From version 5.0, Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS provides a caching solution for distributed development. Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS Cache Server is an optional caching system. It is used to cache copies of requested server files, thereby improving the client responsiveness.

When you have more than 1 developer working on the same project at the same remote location, you need Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS Cache Server.

This is the scenario: When  an user try to get or check out a file through Cache Server, if the file was transferred through this cache server before, the file will be transferred directly from Cache Server to client. No request is sent to server.
