What is Plug-in
A plug-in is a dynamic code module that is native to the specific platform on which the browser is running. It is a code library, rather than an application or an applet, and runs only from the browser. Plug-ins offer a rich variety of features that can increase the flexibility of Gecko-based browsers.
Plug-ins are associated with one or more MIME types. When the browser starts, it enumerates the available plug-ins (this step varies according to platform), reads resources from each plug-in file to determine the MIME types for that plug-in, and registers each plug-in library for its MIME types.
What is Dynamic Web TWAIN Plug-in
Dynamic Web TWAIN Plug-in is a windowed plug-in
which enables you to acquire images from any TWAIN compatible devices in
Gecko-based browsers such as Netscape and Firefox.
With the carefully designed interface, and the built-in wizard mode, Dynamic Web
TWAIN Plug-in is very easy to use. You can typically do your TWAIN job in
several lines of code. At the same time, Dynamic Web TWAIN Plug-in is very
powerful. It is compatible with TWAIN specification V1.9. It has built-in TIFF,
PDF, JPEG and PNG encoder and decoder. It supports all three image transfer modes and
many other features.
With Dynamic Web TWAIN Plug-in you can control any scanner, digital
camera or capture card if it has a TWAIN driver. High-level acquisition support
is provided for ease of use, and low-level functionality is provided for
flexibility and control in even the most demanding applications.
