How to obtain the Dynamic Web TWAIN SDK

Trial Version

Option 1: Download a 30-day Free Trial

Online Download Link

NOTE:

You can download an .exe for Windows, or an .tar.gz for Linux or an .dmg.zip for macOS. A 30-day free trial key will be automatically generated for the .exe and .dmg.zip. But for Linux, you will need to request a trial key manually online and update the key yourself.

Option 2: Download the Dynamic Web TWAIN package from node package manager

The package can be downloaded like this

npm install dwt@15.0

NOTE:

Files downloaded via the npm don't include the binary files like the Dynamsoft Service installers, etc. Instead these files are deployed on Dynamsoft's Server and are configured to be downloaded when you run the samples that come with the package. Also, the package uses a trial key that may not be valid at the time you downloaded it. In this case, you can request a trial key online and update the key yourself.

Full Version

Option 1: Download the full package with a purchase

When you purchase a license, Dynamsoft will send you an email that contains the License key as well as the download link for the full version installer.

NOTE:

All the samples, resources files, etc. that come with the full version installer don't contain any license. You can apply your license according to this article.

Option 2: Using NPM

As the node package manager is open to the public, Dynamsoft didn't put the full version package on there. That means running the following command will always download only the trial version.

npm install dwt@15.0

In order to use the full version, the developer must make a few custom configurations in their own JavaScript /TypeScript code:

Dynamsoft.WebTwainEnv.Trial = false;
Dynamsoft.WebTwainEnv.ProductKey = "{the full version key}";
Dynamsoft.WebTwainEnv.ResourcesPath = "{the relative or absolute path to the libraries}";

NOTE:

By default, in the file dynamsoft.webtwain.min.js, ResourcesPath is set to "https://tst.dynamsoft.com/libs/dwt/15.0" which provides only the trial libraries. After you have purchased, you will get the full version libraries and you need to put them on your server and change the path in your application accordingly.
