Dynamsoft Issue Tracking Anywhere
Offered as Hosted Service
Software Magazine
(Jan 29, 2008)
Having won developers' trust with its source code,
Dynamsoft has gone on to solve the next problem
that multi-site developers (and others) typically
face after creating the source code: tracking work
on bug fixes, project changes and new features,
and/or collaborating on other tasks. Dynamsoft
launched Issue Tracking Anywhere last June. Now
the company is offering the application as a hosted service.
The significance of Dynamsoft's newly announced hosted
offering is that it appeals to a broader, non-technical
audience, extending beyond developers to quality assurance,
project management, and other staff.

Installation was straightforward: I followed the installation
instructions, and it worked the first time. I've always
felt that a source code manager needs to be unobtrusive
and practically transparent, to this point that the user doesn't even know it's
there, and I feel
that way about SAS.
It doesn't get

is intuitive and easy to understand, and it doesn't break.

SourceSafe Anywhere developer Dynamsoft has announced
that systems development company Adea., Inc., has
implemented SourceAnywhere Hosted as their version
control platform. According to a Dynamsoft news
release, SourceSafe Anywhere Hosted is "...delivered
over the Internet as a Software as a Service (SaaS)
application [that] offers SourceSafe style version
control capabilities for development teams."
SourceAnywhere Hosted requires various Microsoft
technologies (namely Windows Server 2003 and SQL
Server 2005) to operate, and has an interface that
resembles Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (VSS) -- a
move obviously intended to ease the migration of
Visual SourceSafe (VSS) users to SourceAnywhere.
