Challenge
Diyar United needed to give about 1,000 users across its government, healthcare, and banking clients a way to scan and manage documents entirely from the browser, then route them into the company's content management system with the right metadata and access controls.
Building this kind of scanning capability from scratch would have meant solving hardware integration, cross-browser support, and image processing largely on their own, all while meeting the security expectations that come with highly regulated sectors.
Development still came with real friction. Some scanner devices needed additional testing and fallback handling to work reliably, hardware access proved inconsistent in non-Chromium browsers and staff who were new to digital document workflows needed extra onboarding to adopt the new process.

To avoid building scanning and image processing capability from the ground up, Diyar United's team, six to eight people spanning IT, Document Management, Compliance, and End-User Operations, chose to build on an SDK rather than code the application from scratch.
