As with many application providers, building a robust application often requires components that are too time-consuming, expensive, or difficult to build in-house. For this application, it was the document scanning functionality. This was a key component in automating manual document workflows related to customer transactions. One of Avanza Solutions' products is its Unison CRM solution. This is an enterprise-wide web-based application used by banks for several key capabilities. It provides customer interaction management and integrates with a bank's legacy systems. One key component of this application is automating manual document workflows related to customer transactions. This includes anything from statements to general customer communications. E-form management was seen as crucial to delivering a total banking CRM solution. Regulations often call for paper-based documents to be digitally scanned and maintained for basic records-keeping or audits.
Building a robust application often requires components that are too time-consuming, expensive, or difficult to build in-house. In this case, it was the document scanning functionality. Building just this component requires immense expertise. Some standards are hundreds of pages long to deal with. Coding can also be thousands of lines on top of existing code. Then there is the cost of maintaining support for this component on top of others. For most shops, document scanning is too critical to go it alone.
Avanza Solutions required a robust and simple document scanning module for its Unison CRM application. Avanza Solutions researched software development kits (SDK) to secure this capability off the shelf. After some research and testing of a few SDKs, it settled on Dynamsoft. Five Unison team members from Avanza Solutions were involved in deciding upon the SDK and integrating it with the Unison CRM application.
As a result, it took just four months to build the Unison CRM application. Without Dynamsoft's SDK, it could have taken more than a year. The SDK not only saved immense time, but it also saved on immense additional development costs.

Building a document scanning module would have taken a month, but with Dynamsoft's SDK, it was only a matter of integrating it with the Unison application. So, the SDK saved immense time. It also saved on immense additional development costs and technical support costs. Application expansion plans are in the works and the Avanza Solutions team is confident Dynamsoft's SDK will seamlessly scale as needed.
