Dynamsoft Legacy License Server Retirement in 2027
Dynamsoft is committed to maintaining secure, high-performance products while continuously improving our technology stack. As part of this commitment, we are announcing the planned retirement of the license server for older versions of the Dynamsoft Barcode Reader (DBR) SDK.
What’s Changing
The license server supporting DBR SDK versions 6 through 9 will be permanently retired on December 31, 2027.
After this date, applications using these legacy versions with online license keys (8-digit format) will no longer be able to validate licenses through our servers.
Why This Change Is Happening
This update aligns with Dynamsoft’s Product Lifetime Policy, under which:

Each major version receives 3 years of maintenance and technical support

After this period, the version is considered End-of-Life (EOL)
DBR versions 6–9 have exceeded this support window. Retiring the associated license server allows us to focus resources on modern, actively supported versions.
Who Is Affected
You will be affected only if:

You are using DBR versions 6–9, and
-
Your application relies on an online license with an 8-digit key.
You will NOT be affected if:

You are using an offline license, or
-
You are using a newer DLS (Dynamsoft License Server) license that starts with “DLS**”.
What You Should Do
To ensure uninterrupted service, we recommend upgrading to the latest version of the DBR SDK well before the retirement date.
