Introduction
In the fast-paced automotive retail sector, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate documentation is essential. Automate identified a common operational bottleneck: delivery drivers were burdened with handling and organizing large volumes of printed documents (often more than 50 per day). These documents are essential legal records and losing them could result in significant financial loss due to fraud.
To overcome this challenge, Automate developed a mobile solution that digitizes the process. By integrating Dynamsoft Barcode Reader SDK, drivers can now retrieve the relevant documents through a simple barcode scan and the customers can sign them digitally, eliminating the need for physical document searches and enabling a seamless, paperless workflow.
Challenge
Prior to adopting Dynamsoft’s solution, delivery drivers at automotive dealerships relied on printed delivery documents for every order. This method was prone to issues such as document loss, increased physical document handling, and inefficiency in locating specific delivery documents.

Solution
Rather than building a barcode scanning engine from scratch, Automate adopted an existing SDK proven to be reliable and efficient. The team was introduced to Dynamsoft Barcode Reader through another group within their organization already using the technology with success.
After evaluating its capabilities, Automate chose Dynamsoft for its ability to process various barcode formats with speed and accuracy. The SDK’s ease of integration, flexibility, and consistent performance made it an ideal fit for the company’s needs.
With Dynamsoft, Automate introduced a streamlined workflow for drivers, which includes delivery documents being created in a Dealer Management System (DMS). Drivers use a mobile app to access and download these documents. At delivery, they scan a printed barcode linked to the order, instantly retrieving the correct document on their device. The recipient signs it digitally, and the signed copy is automatically saved and sent back to the DMS.
This approach eliminated the need for physical document management during deliveries and ensured a smooth, fast, and accurate process.
Integration and Development
The application was developed over six months as part of a broader digital transformation platform. The development team consists of four professionals including a Product Manager, Business Analyst, UX Designer, and Senior Developer/Architect.
The integration of Dynamsoft’s SDK into the mobile app was seamless, with no significant technical obstacles reported. The scanning module was configured to read barcodes printed on delivery sheets under standard daylight conditions. Documents are retrieved from a local device database and synchronized with the DMS using APIs, ensuring fast and reliable access both online and offline.
