TLS Security Upgrade for Dynamsoft License Service
To continue providing a secure and reliable licensing experience, we will be updating our license service to support TLS 1.2 and above only. This industry-standard security enhancement may affect users running older versions of the Dynamsoft Barcode Reader (DBR) Mobile SDK.
Key Change
TLS 1.0 / 1.1 Deactivation
We will deactivate TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on March 31, 2026. After this update, the license service that DBR Mobile SDK versions 6–9 connect to will require TLS 1.2 or higher.
What This Means for You
If your application is using DBR Mobile SDK versions 6-9 or an older TLS stack (e.g., older iOS builds), it may not be able to connect to Dynamsoft license service after 2026/3/31.
Action Required
Upgrade to DBR Mobile SDK Version 11
To ensure uninterrupted service, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest DBR Mobile SDK (version 11), which fully supports TLS 1.2+ and offers performance and stability improvements.

TLS 1.2 has become the modern industry standard. Moving to TLS 1.2+ helps ensure:

Additional Upcoming Changes (End of 2027)
Separate from the TLS transition, we also plan to retire certain legacy licensing endpoints that support older DBR versions of desktop and mobile editions. These legacy endpoints will remain available through the end of 2027 and will be phased out afterward.
This retirement is not related to the TLS update, but it will impact applications running very old SDK versions that depend on legacy licensing communication.
To ensure long-term compatibility and uninterrupted operation beyond 2027, upgrading to SDK version 11 is strongly recommended.
