- What is ImageCapture Suite?
ImageCapture Suite has ActiveX, Plug-in and Mac Editions.
ActiveX edition is compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer and all COM-compatible environments, such as MS Office, VB and VC.
Plug-in edition is compatible with Gecko-based browsers, such as Netscape, Firefox and Mozilla on Windows.
Mac edition is compatible with all browsers on Mac OS X.
ImageCapture Suite enables you to acquire images from any TWAIN compatible devices. Also, it can capture a live video stream into a container and grab a snapshot to be exported to a file/binary. Basically speaking, ImageCapture Suite almost combines all features of Dynamic Web TWAIN and Dynamic Webcam SDK. For more info, please refer to Product Comparison.
ImageCapture Suite has many features specifically designed for web environment, such as uploading and downloading images through FTP or HTTP protocol.
- What type of operation system does ImageCapture Suite support?
ImageCapture Suite supports both Windows and Mac platforms.
- Does the use of the ImageCapture Suite require installation of any drivers?
Yes. ImageCapture Suite communicates with TWAIN/WIA/UVC driver of a device (scanner/camera/capture card/etc.) to control it to acquire and transfer images, so the driver needs to be installed on client machines.

- What are the differences among ActiveX, Plug-in and Mac Edition?
ActiveX Edition works as an ActiveX control in IE (32-bit and 64-bit) on Windows; Plug-in Edition works with Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, and etc on Windows; Mac Edition works with all browsers on Mac OS X. If you are not sure which browser your end user will use, we recommend you choose ActiveX + Plug-in + Mac editions to support all browsers on Windows and Mac OS X.
